Policy Context
When this poll was conducted in late April 2026, Virginia had just become the latest state to approve mid-decade changes to its map of congressional districts. In Virginia’s case, the purpose was to make the map more favorable to Democratic party candidates. This was in reaction to other states’ changes to their maps to favor one party or the other.
