Policy Context
When this poll was conducted in early September 2025, government restrictions of pesticides had been in the news due to mixed signals from the Trump administration. Earlier in the year, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., had issued a report implying that new pesticide restrictions would be an important part of his “Make America Healthy Again” effort. But in mid-August, a new edition of the report made no mention of pesticide restrictions. News coverage suggested that this change reflected a split in the administration between Kennedy and supporters of agricultural interests in the administration.
